About my studio - 35 Years and counting.

I created David Jensen Photography and Alaska Pet-ography with my wife, Carol, in 1989. Creating portraits of dogs and their people is my passion and specialty. My services also include high school seniors, executives and more. I love creating and sharing special moments with my customers.

I’m a full-time photographer with regular office hours throughout the week and weekends. Consultations are free.

Located in South Anchorage

My studio is located near the intersection of Birch Road and O’Malley Road. It features a comfortable interior setting with professional lighting and a large variety of backdrops to fit most every request.

The studio is surrounded by an acre of trees, groomed landscaping and exceptional natural lighting. Your dogs and kids will love playing, running and posing for my camera. It’s a fully enclosed park setting with room to roam. The dogs can run free.

Scheduling Sessions

I’m here to help with selecting the best date and time to schedule your session.

  • All sessions are scheduled via phone: (907) 868-1680 (this is a landline)

  • I schedule just one session on any given day.

  • Weekday sessions begin between 10 - 4 p.m. depending upon lighting. Winter shooting is limited to daylight hours.

  • My studio is open seven-days a week. Saturday sessions start between 11 and 1 p.m. Sundays are at 1 p.m.

  • $100 non-refundable deposit locks in your date. No-shows remain liable for the full amount of the session fee. This helps pay for lost staffing costs.

  • Completion of your session payment is requested the day of your session.

  • Cash, checks, Visa and Mastercard are accepted.

If weather is not cooperating, we can revisit the schedule and you will not lose your deposit. I prefer to wait until the morning of your session date before making any postponement decisions.

Health Policy

People: Please let me know if you or any of your family members have any COVID, cold or fly symptoms or if anyone is visiting from out of state (recent travel.) My staff and I work in close contact with our guests. Please schedule your session at least two days following any travel. This will help protect future studio guests as well as me, my staff and family.

Dogs/Pets: Let me know when you schedule your session if your pets have any health or safety concerns.

Your Ordering Appointment.

Following your session, I’ll share an online preview gallery of your photography collection. It will be available to view online for about one week. This will help you with previewing your initial favorites. I recommend visiting the studio to finalize your package and to make additional purchases or requests. I can help with your selections using our large display screen. These appointments are usually 30-60 minutes. I’m also really happy to create special packages to fit your needs. Turnaround time for final prints and other items is 1-2 weeks. Let me know about any more immediate needs and I’ll do my best to accommodate.

I offer prints, digital images, wall portraits and gift ideas, books, albums, business cards, greeting cards and more. If you purchase digital images, I’ll give you different options to ensure that your final images are printed professionally through my studio or other quality resources. Please try to avoid using local grocery or department store or self-serve photo labs. They cannot produce the colors, printing/paper quality or handling that your photographs deserve.

Payment for your order is requested following your ordering appointment.
